Covid-19: Spike continues as 991 test positive, case tally rises to 139,381

The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 991 fresh positive cases were reported on Monday pushing the number of active cases near 7,908 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.

No death was reported in J&K in the last 24 hours and the toll of deaths remains 2,034 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 991 fresh positive cases reported on Monday pushed the tally of positive cases to 139,381

Of the exact number of 139,381 cases, 83,679 are from Kashmir and 55,702 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 991 new cases, 492 belong to Kashmir division while as 499 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 83,679 including 77,277 recoveries and 1,282 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 55,702 including 52,162 recoveries and 752 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,908 including 5,120 from Kashmir division and 2,788 from Jammu division.

With 418 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 129,439 which is 92.86 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 303 from Srinagar, 53 from Baramulla, 31 from Budgam, 30 from Pulwama, 22 from Kupwara, 25 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 10 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 499 from Jammu division include 181 from Jammu, 160 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 55 from Kathua, 04 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 97 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
